Passport to the World: Traveling Around the World Through Children’s Literature is a collection of children’s picture books, and a passport, a World Citizen Passport, where you can record the countries you have visited. The travel is imaginary, but the learning is real.

The Passport to the World books are written by different authors and illustrated by different artists. The books are about children for children…but that doesn’t mean an adult can’t gain great insight. Each book tells the story of a different child in a different country. Each is well written and beautifully illustrated. Each shows how a child might typically live, work, play, sleep, eat, dream, and if they are lucky enough, go to school.

You are encouraged to embark on this literary travel around the world. Gather the Passport to the World books (your local library is a GREAT place for that), create a World Citizen Passport, and take off to meet your global neighbors one book at a time. Bon voyage!
